4:3 x Everyman: 'Us' by Jordan Peele

23 Mar 2019, 23:00 - 02:00 GMT

Midnight screenings across the UK of 'Get Out' director Jordan Peele's latest nightmare 'Us', hosted by 4:3 and Everyman.

After setting new levels for provocative, socially-conscious horror with 'Get Out', Peele hits us with 'Us,' a new allegorical tale that veers farther into the dark recesses of America's collective id. The home-invasion thriller centres around an endearing family, with Lupita Nyong’o ('12 Years A Slave') as Adelaide Wilson, a woman returning to her beachside childhood home with her husband, Gabe, played by Winston Duke ('Black Panther'), and their two children for an idyllic summer getaway.

When darkness falls, the Wilsons are confronted by another family standing in the driveway of their vacation home, a family to whom they bear an unsettlingly perfect resemblance. Filled with nightmare-inducing images of tunnel-dwelling doubles who’ve come to claim the privileged lives their aboveground counterparts have been enjoying all this time, 'Us' implicates us as our own worst enemies.
