4:3 x Southbank Centre: D'Angelo Screening + Afterparty

15 Aug 2019, 18:45 - 02:30 BST

D’Angelo was a Grammy-winning singer with two platinum-selling albums and legions of adoring fans; then, at the height of his success, the soul singer vanished from the limelight. After 12 years, he returned.

Boiler Room's 4:3 in collaboration with Southbank Centre is proud to present the UK premiere of 'Devil's Pie', the much-anticipated documentary about the disappearance – and return – of D’Angelo. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Carine Bijlsma, chaired by Women on Docs' Eloise King.

The night will then slide into the fourth edition of Boiler Room's Concrete Lates. Inspired by the music of D'Angelo, we invite Dego, Ge-Ology and Ruby Savage—three lauded selectors with stacks of soulful cuts—to soundtrack the Southbank Centre's grand Queen Elizabeth Hall.
