Roger and Brian Eno share winning videos from ‘Mixing Colours’film project ‘A Quiet Scene’

Following the March release of Roger and Brian Eno’s first ever duo album ‘Mixing Colours’ on Deutsche Grammophon, in April the brothers launched ‘A Quiet Scene’ public collaboration project, inviting fans to submit videos of their post-lockdown world to www.mixing-colours.com, with the winning 18 to be released as official music videos.

With lockdowns continuing across the globe, the videos have taken on a greater sense of poignancy, and upon announcement the brothers encouraged participants to document and appreciate their own newly confined surroundings. “We want to ask people in the next few weeks to take a single shot of a quiet scene,” they explained, “at home, or out the window, or in their garden. Clouds passing, rustling tree leaves, a bird nesting, people conducting activities in the house: quiet moments that we are all enjoying, together, in isolation.”

A staggering 1722 videos were submitted, with a 200 strong shortlist then being announced and shared on www.mixing-colours.com . This has now been whittled-down to the final 18 winning videos using an inclusive system, whereby all of the 200 shortlist entrants were invited to vote on their favourite submissions by others. Roger and Brian also casted their votes.
