This track came into being after Usher asked Lopatin to write something for him; the ‘Yeah!’ man rejected Lopatin’s submission, but the track ultimately became ‘The Station’. Some say the lyrics depict John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’, from the perspective of a human being lusting after anything that moves, be it alien or not. With that in mind, Daylen Seu’s visual interpretation portrays an ambiguous, possibly sexual relationship between two alien lifeforms chained to the bleak world they inhabit. It looks like something from ‘Fantasia’, if the film had been directed by David Lynch instead of Walt Disney.
