Staged in an art nouveau hotel in Prague and starring Czech model Eva Klímková, this mesmerising new Johnny Jewel music video is drenched in twilight splendour, reminiscent of David Lynch's Lady Blue Shangai film for Dior.

Of course, the Chromatics leader is a Lynch collaborator, having created a suite of soundtrack work for the rebooted series of Twin Peaks. A year on from the show that defied every plausible expectation, Jewel is back with 'Themes for Television', a cutting-floor album of material culled from that prolific streak of inspiration - including 'Spiral Staircase'.

“The project began as a sonic exploration of the sounds I was hearing in my nightmares,” Jewel says. “I wanted to find my way out of the maze by focusing on beauty over fear — like the way the fractured sunrise looks in a dream.”
