The lead track from Casey MQ’s debut album ‘babycasey’, ‘Candyboy’ is viewed as the heart of the record that explores celebrity fandom, narcissistic desire and childhood dreams. “With Candyboy, I wanted to hold space for a love that you can feel warm and safe in, one that reflects the sense of security a child needs while they face the world that they are discovering,” he states. “To hold, and to be held, that’s how I see the song.” Paired with the video directed by Saradibiza and Marylou Mayniel AKA oklou, visually it captures the themes of the album so brilliantly and brings a new touch and vulnerability to Candyboy. “The video taps into a state of longing while existing in your secluded fantasy," he muses.
