Puppet theatre of the island of Awaji

One of the best known traditional arts on Awaji is puppet theatre, Practiced for hundreds of years in the south of the island, Awaji played a very important role in the development of Bunraku (Japanese puppet theatre) as a more formal art form during the Edo Period.
For the filming of I am (not) a monster, we went to visit Awaji Island, an island known for its ancestral puppetry, the one of Awaji Puppets and learnt how to manipulate puppets for the film.
