'2 become 1' was streaming on 4:3 in October 2019

Following multiple events in London last week, our debut edition of LESBIENNALE continues with a 6-week digital video exhibition on 4:3. Each week 4:3 will release 1 video to stream for 7 days only.

This week: ‘2 become 1’, a music video, as well as act 3, part 3 of a body of work titled ‘A View from Elsewhere’, a multimedia fantasy on the experience of desire, shame and identification of the material queer body by Victoria Sin with soundtrack by Shy One. In this final sequence, the incredible mating habits of deep sea angler fish inspire a cover of the Spice Girls' 2 become 1, reimagined with a beat influenced by jazz, grime and dancehall.

Bio:
Victoria Sin is an artist using speculative fiction within performance, moving image, writing, and print to interrupt normative processes of desire, identification, and objectification. Shy One is a DJ and music producer who's eclectic sound reflects the diversity of London underground musical cultures she exists within. Their work together spans two years and multiple projects which have been presented at Serpentine Galleries, Cafe Oto and Redbull Music Festival (London), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), opening for Yaeji at the Knockdown Center (New York), and at the Venice Biennale (Venice).
